Angler Advantage Insurance Program's Disqualification Factors

Watercraft "DISQUALIFICATION" Factors:

  1. Watercraft is less than 26 feet in length;

  2. Watercraft has the capability of exceeding 55 M.P.H.;

  3. Watercraft is over twenty-five (25) years of age (Calculate by taking current calendar year and subtract the watercraft's "model/year".);

  4. Watercraft's maximum "fare-paying passenger" carrying capacity exceeds six (6) "fare-paying passengers";

  5. The minimum "agreed value" of the "combined" hull, motor(s)/engine(s) and trailer values are less than $5,000. or greater than $2,000,000.;

  6. Watercraft is used exclusively for "commercial fishing" (i.e. Starkist, Mrs. Paul's Fishsticks, etc.) purposes --- except as relates to "for hire/charter by individual(s) or groups up to six (6) fare-paying passengers";

  7. Watercraft that are currently held for sale on consignment or otherwise;

  8. Watercraft that are powered by motor(s)/engine(s) which exceed the charter watercraft's manufacturer's maximum recommended horsepower rating;

  9. Watercraft designed for powerboat racing or experimental purposes;

  10. Intended navigation use is "outside" the following range: The inland waters of the contiguous 48 states of the U.S. and Canada, the Great Lakes, and all coastal waters of the contiguous 48 states of the U.S. and Canada --- but specifically excluding all watercraft which are moored, stored, and/or berthed "FULL-TIME"within fifty (50) miles of the coastline inland from the Virginia/North Carolina border over to the Texas/Mexico border; and

  11. Liability /P&I risks ONLY without the purchase of Physical Damage Coverage.

Operator/Owner "DISQUALIFICATION" Factors:

  1. Owner/Named Operator is not at least twenty-one (21) years old;

  2. Owner/Named Operator must have a minimum of three (3) years owner experience of a charter watercraft of the same class and type (i.e. ---"sailboat" versus "powerboat") or larger as the charter watercraft for which coverage is being applied. ["Inexperienced owners/operators" --- owners/operators with less than three (3) years experience in a watercraft of similar size (6 feet or less jump in length) and similar horsepower --- may be eligible for coverage but must be referred to A.A.I.P.'s Home Office for quotation purposes.];

  3. Owner/Named Operator will not qualify if within the past three (3) years their MVR shows the following:
    • More than three (3) violations per operator or five (5) per household;

    • Any major violations such as "Reckless Driving"; DUI/DWI; or any other alcohol or drug related offense;

    • More than one (1) "at fault" accident; or

    • A suspended or revoked drivers license currently due to a moving violation(s); refusal to submit to blood, breath or urine test; excessive blood alcohol content; failure to appear in traffic court; and/or failure to pay traffic fines.

    HOWEVER, infractions under "3" above may be referred to A.A.I.P./Old United Casualty Company's Home Office for their possible consideration --- if there are extenuating circumstances.
